The Xiaomi Redmi Pro will be officially unveiled next week on 27 July, but not surprisingly, Xiaomi has released more teasers ahead of the device’s launch. Based on these teasers, we may have a good idea of the Redmi Pro’s specifications, including a hardware the company has not used before.
Out of the three teasers, one particularly stood out: it shows Xiaomi’s new spokesperson, Wu Xiubo, serving a French dessert named “OLED ping,” which is described as “colourful, like the galaxy.” More likely than not, this indicates that the Redmi Pro will be packing an OLED display; a first for Xiaomi.
Other than that, there will also be two other “dishes” prepared by Xiaomi’s two other spokespersons: Liu Shishi and Haoran Liu. The former will be preparing a dish that literally translates to “10 nuclear double stem head,” while Haoran Liu will be cooking up a “brushed gold potato.”
Chances are, these oddly named dishes are foreshadowing that the Redmi Pro will be packing a deca-core processor, a dual-camera setup and a brushed metal body. According to MIUI Forums, the dish prepared by Liu Shishi can also be translated to “10 cores and dual lens.” Based on this teaser, the leaked image of Haoran Liu holding a mysterious Xiaomi phone – pictured above – is likely to be the Redmi Pro; it fits the description, after all.
Xiaomi engaging three Chinese celebrities to be the spokespersons for the Redmi Pro is an interesting move; it’s something that the company has never done before in the past. Evidently, the Redmi Pro is one of Xiaomi’s most hyped devices yet.
