Officially announced to the world around two weeks ago, the brand new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 is officially heading to stores throughout the world starting today onwards. As reported earlier, NVIDIA’s AIB partners have been cooking quite a number of GTX 1060 custom boards for the market including ZOTAC who will be releasing its GTX 1060 AMP Edition into Malaysia tomorrow.
This technically made the card as the first GTX 1060 to be released in our market. As expected, the card is clocked slightly higher than NVIDIA’s own specifications with a base clock of 1556 MHz and boost clock of 1771 MHz. However, the card still retains NVIDIA’s stock memory clock speed of 8,000 MHz.
Another interesting aspect of the GTX 1060 AMP Edition is that it is 39.37 mm shorter than NVIDIA Founder Edition’s version of GTX 1060 although ZOTAC’s card is still 10.16 mm thicker than NVIDIA’s own design. However, there is nothing to be concerned about the card’s thickness though since GTX 1060 doesn’t support SLI.
ZOTAC has also equipped the card with an elaborate thermal solution that consisted of a pair of 90mm dynamic fans on top of aluminum fin stack, dual 8mm copper heatpipes, and copper block contact. In terms of pricing, the new GTX 1060 AMP Edition will be made available in stores throughout the country from tomorrow onwards at RM 1,399.
