It has been well over a year since the Xiaomi Mi 4i was officially launched in Malaysia. In light of this, it appears Xiaomi Malaysia has decided to slash the retail price of the device; the Mi 4i now retails from only RM599 in Malaysia.
Of course, the RM599 Mi 4i is the base 16GB model; the more practical 32GB variant is still priced at RM899. Considering the fact that the Mi 4i does not feature any form of expandable storage, consumers may find the 16GB of storage insufficient. That being said, RM599 – which is RM150 off of the original RM749 retail price – is quite a reasonable price tag for the Mi 4i.
Under the hood of the Xiaomi Mi 4i are a second-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.7GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, a 3,120mAh battery, as well as 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras. The Mi 4i also has a compact 5-inch 1920 x 1080 JDI display along with LTE connectivity. Although the Mi 4i is not the most well-equipped Android smartphone, these are respectable hardware, especially for a RM599 device.
If you’re keen to get your hands on the Xiaomi Mi 4i, it is available for purchase on Xiaomi Malaysia’s online store. The 16GB model currently goes for RM599, while the 32GB variant retails at RM899.
