Looking forward to the much-rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note 7? If you are, 2 August 2016 is the date to mark on your calendar as the Korean company has just sent out the invite to its annual Unpacked even. The company also confirmed that they will be using the name Samsung Galaxy Note7 instead of the Galaxy Note6.
The reason for skipping a number is that they wish to unify their product portfolio. This will complement the current Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and will minimise the confusion about the latest mobile technology from the company. This confirms the rumour we saw earlier whereby multiple sources says that the Galaxy Note6 model number is lower than Galaxy S7, so people might misconstrue it as an out-dated phone.

Sadly though, Samsung did not give out any further details about the Galaxy Note7. It just says that there will be added functionality to the S Pen and large screen.
“The Galaxy Note7 is a powerful instrument for achievement and self-expression, and is made for those who want to get the most from their phones – and their lives. Galaxy Note7 will help people do more at work, at home and everywhere in between.”
The event will be held at 11:00am EDT in New York 2016 and simultaneously in Rio de Janeiro at noon and in London at 4:00pm; that’s 11pm on the same day for us. The live stream of the New York event will be available at www.samsung.com and Samsung Newsroom.
