Dual-camera setups seem to be the next big thing. Just recently, the honor 8 was officially introduced. Not surprisingly, the device is packing a dual-camera system, much like the honor V8 and Huawei P9. Now, if recent leaks are to be believed, Xiaomi appears to be coming up with something similar as well.
The picture above was leaked online not too long ago; it shows Chinese actor Haoran Liu holding a mysterious Xiaomi device. What is particularly interesting about the device is the dual-camera system, which would be a first for Xiaomi.
However, unlike Huawei’s dual-camera setup on the P9, the rear cameras of the Xiaomi device are quite far apart. Chances are, this dual-camera system is akin to the one found on the LG G5, where the lenses don’t work in tandem, but act independently as two different shooting modes. Of course, this is merely an educated guess at this point.
Looking at the design of the Xiaomi device itself, it bears a striking resemblance to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. This, coupled with the fact that Haoran Liu just signed up to be the official spokesperson of Xiaomi’s Redmi lineup, makes it pretty clear that this will be a new Redmi device; it could just be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Then again, these images do not originate from Xiaomi itself, so their legitimacy is questionable. Hopefully, it won’t be long until we learn more about this mysterious Xiaomi device, including its specifications. After all, Xiaomi will supposedly unveil a new “flagship product” this month.
