Wizards of the Coast’s is bringing the latest of expansion set from Magic the Gathering to Magic Duels on 20 July. Eldritch Moon is the second and last expansion from the Shadows of Innistrad block, and concludes the storyline that has seen a mashup of Lovecraftian horrors battling more traditional denizens of the night like werewolves and vampires.
The Eldritch Moon expansion will see a whole new single player campaign added to Magic Duels at launch. It will also include all the 205 cards from the physical version of the game, as well as specially created deck archetype for players to explore. Naturally, players will be able to unlock the new cards and campaign through in-game currency; or can just pay to skip the grind.
Magic Duels is the digital version of the popular card game, and functions in a manner similar to Hearthstone. However, unlike Blizzard’s online card game, it has a larger narrative and more single player campaigns to explore. It also sees more expansions released as the game is updated under the same cycle as the physical game. Magic Duels should also not be confused with Magic the Gathering Online (or MTGO); which is the other digital version of the game.
WotC’s Magic Duels is available on PC, Android, and iOS. Eldritch Moon (the digital version) will be released on 20 July. The physical expansion will hit stores on 22 July, with pre-release events being held on the weekend of 16-17 July.
