Qualcomm recently announced a new flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 821. As its name suggest, it is the company’s top-of-the-line mobile processor, and it features slight update to the Snapdragon 820 that powers most of the flagship smartphones we have today.
According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 821 is very similar to the 820 however, thanks to higher clock speeds, it provides a 10% performance increase compared to the 820.mAccording to AnandTech, the latest processor from Qualcomm has two high performance CPU clocked at 2.4GHz, as well as two low power cores clocked at 2GHz, an improvement over the 2×2.2GHz and 2×1.6GHz cores on the Snapdragon 820. Sadly though, the company did not provide any extra detail about its brand new processor.
The Snapdragon 820 is found on almost all high-end Android smartphones this year like the OnePlus 3, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Xiaomi Mi 5, HTC 10 and such. The Snapdragon 821 will be heading to devices in the second half of this year and while the company did not mention any names, we could probably look forward to it in the highly rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
