It’s a dangerous world out there and Maxis wants to help parents easily contact and keep track of their children’s whereabouts. The telco recently introduced the new MaxisONE Kid plan, a kid-friendly postpaid plan designed for the QQ Watch wearable.
MaxisONE Kid comes with 500MB of data, unlimited calls to 10 numbers (all networks), and voice messaging. It is designed specially for the QQ Watch, allowing parents to monitor their children, and to allow the children to contact their parents or guardians without the need of a smartphone.
MaxisONE Kid costs RM58 a month but if you are an existing subscriber with MaxisONE Plan 98 and above with a MaxisONE Share Line, you will get an additional RM20 rebate a month; that’s only RM38 a month. It comes with a one year contract and each principal line can have a maximum of two MaxisONE Kid lines.
To subscribe, you will need to visit one of the four flagship stores in Klang Valley – KLCC, Mid Valley, TTDI or Sunway Pyramid. The 500MB of data is only useable for MaxisONE Kid, is not transferable, and is not part of the MaxisONE Plan DataPool.
The QQ Watch was introduced slightly over a month ago. It is a smartwatch for young children that come with a SIM card slot of its own so does not rely on a smartphone for connectivity. The QQ Watch can make calls, alert parents and allow children to send an SOS when needed.
