honor’s next flagship device, the honor 8, has appeared on TENAA. Basically, we now know most of the device’s key specifications. Aside from that, honor has also released a brand new teaser of the honor 8, which seems to indicate an 11 July launch date.
The honor 8’s TENAA listing revealed that it will be powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor: the very same chipset found in the Huawei Mate 8. The certification also shows that the honor 8 will be packing a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 128GB, a 5MP front-facing snapper, as well as a 2,900mAh battery.
Looking at the back of the honor 8, we can see that it is equipped with a dual-camera setup. Much like the Huawei P9 and honor V8‘s camera setups, it is a pair of 12MP sensors; it will be interesting to see how the camera performance of the honor 8 will compare against the former two smartphones. Also, although it’s hard to tell if the back panel of the honor 8 is made out of glass or metal, it’s likely to be the former based on the lack of any antenna lines.
The honor 8 should be officially introduced on the 11th of July 2016 based on the teaser released by the Chinese company; we will find out then just how much the device will go for. Hopefully, the honor 8 will be launched in Malaysia, seeing how the honor V8 will not be brought in by honor Malaysia.
