Announced back at MWC 2016, we have received word that the HP Elite X3 will be coming to Malaysia in the next couple of months. According to a representative of the company, the phablet will be arriving on our shores sometime between August to September 2016.
The HP Elite X3 is first and foremost aimed at business users, and its features – as well as the accessories that go with the device – made this very clear. Take the Mobile Extender, which essentially turns the Elite X3 into a laptop thanks to Windows 10 Mobile’s Continuum feature. It’s basically a dock in the form of a laptop, complete with a 12.5-inch Full HD display, a keyboard, and of course, a trackpad.
As for the phablet itself, the Elite X3, it’s a very well-equipped Windows Phone. It has a 5.96-inch 1440p AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 256GB), and a very generous 4,150mAh battery.
Rounding out the specifications of the Elite X3 are a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing shooter, support for wireless charging – both Qi and PMA standards – as well as an iris scanner. Needless to say, the Elite X3 is a very capable device.
Although the HP Elite X3 is aimed at enterprise users, regular consumers can also purchase the device if they wish to do so. Unfortunately, we have no information on the Elite X3’s Malaysian pricing yet, but it’s safe to assume that it won’t be an affordable device.
