Instagram has announced a new feature for its app that will allow users to translate a particular comment or caption. According to the company, the translation interface will mimic that of Facebook’s translation function; whereby users will only need to click the “see translation” function to translate the respective text.
With the addition of a translation feature inside the app itself, Instagram will join the likes of Facebook and Twitter – both of which had the feature enabled for quite some time now. That aside, the text that a user decides to translate will be displayed again in their own language, based on the language set in the settings. Instagram currently supports translation 24 languages – including Malay.
Keep in mind that the translation feature inside Instagram will not work with older posts or comments. Now that Instagram has this feature, users will be able to fully embrace what their K-Pop idols (Korean language is supported) are saying on Instagram – or anything similar to that.
Instagram has mentioned that the translation feature will be made available to everyone by July, but some users are already seeing the feature being made available inside their app. More information regarding the translation feature inside Instagram can be found here.
