Facebook’s increasingly popular messaging app, Messenger, has a lot of neat little easter eggs. There was the cool secret basketball game – you can even play a game of chess with the app – and now, you can even play a football mini-game.
More likely than not, the addition of this mini-game is to coincide with the ongoing Euro 2016. Basically, it’s a game of keepie uppie: players will have to keep tapping on the ball as many times as they can to keep the ball in the air. While this may sound simple, it’s harder than it seems.
To start a game of your own, you simply have to send a football emoji in any given chat. Once you’ve done that, just tap on the emoji: the app will then bring you to a white screen with a ball at the bottom. Of course, you would also have to install the latest version of the app for the mini-game to work.
Much like the basketball mini-game, this football keepie uppie game gets more difficult as you progress. Once you score 10 points, a streak of light will appear on the screen. The same thing happens when you get past 20 points, only there will be two streaks of light instead.
So far, we’ve managed to get past 21 points only – hardly a very impressive feat. If you’d like to give this game a try, start sending football emojis on Facebook Messenger to your friends.
