Samsung has a Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event scheduled for August and it is believed that’s when the new Galaxy Note lineup will be unveiled – Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy Note 7 edge (with a curved edge screen).
The Galaxy Note 7 or Note 7 edge will supposedly be revealed on the 2nd of August 2016 at the Alice Truly Hall, Lincoln Center in New York. The poster shows five curved lines transitioning into Galaxy Note 7’s name, which could represent the skipping of the number 6. Apparently, this move was to pair up the Galaxy Note series with the Galaxy S series.
Other than that, the poster also shows the phrase “The next edge is just around the corner”, which most probably means that the next Note device will have a curved edge screen variant.
From what we know, the Galaxy Note 7 is rumoured to feature a 5.8-inch QHD curved edge display. Under the hood, it could be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor (or similar Exynos chipset), sport an iris scanner, IP68 certification (making it dust and water resistant), a USB Type-C port, as well as a large 4,000mAh battery.
Being part of the Galaxy Note series, it is also rumoured that the Note 7 will come with the ‘Samsung Focus’ app to help with productivity. An app similar to the BlackBerry Hub found on BlackBerry OS that combines information from various services such as emails, social networks and more.
Now that there’s a release date for the Galaxy Note 7 and Note 7 edge, what other features or hardware would you want included in the device?
