WhatsApp has just made it easier for you to message in a group conversation and for you to refer back to an older topic you’ve conversed about before. The company recently introduced the ability for you to quote messages to reply to.
The feature was first discovered in beta testing about three days ago and it looks like it might be available to the public now without having to update your app. When you quote a message, it will appear as an indented message, along with your reply to it. When you tap on the quoted message, it will bring you back to the previous conversation so you can look back to see what’s it all about.
To quote a message, all you need to do is tap and hold the message until a menu appears. You should be able to see a “reply” option for iOS, or an arrow that indicates reply for Android devices. Once you select “reply”, it will appear right above your text bar, and you will be able to key in a message with it. This feature is available for text and voice messages, as well as the pictures, contacts and locations. If you want, you can also quote a quote but that’ll just make the conversation appear very messy.
This definitely makes it a whole lot easier for you to reply to specific messages, especially in a group conversation. The feature should be rolling out now (no app update is required), so check out your WhatsApp to see if you can reply to individual messages
