For those who watched France overcame Romania in the first match of Euro 2016 on Astro earlier today might have noticed that Yes 4G LTE was shown as one of the match’s presenting sponsor. While it has been known for the past several years that the telco is working to utilize LTE to deliver its service, this might be the first time that YTL Communications has openly use LTE as part of Yes 4G branding.
Since the appearance of the advertisement caught us by surprise, we were not fast enough to capture it on camera. Fortunately, we also noticed that the LTE reference has already appeared on Yes 4G advertisement on Stadium Astro’s website. With a little bit of tinkering, we’ve extracted the advertisement from the site which turns out to be available in several languages with each of them clearly stated 4G LTE:
Given how prominent Samsung devices (which even include the 2016 version of Galaxy J7) were featured in the advertisement, this strengthen our belief that the company will officially announce its LTE service at the official launch of Samsung Galaxy J Series (2016) on 15 June.
Furthermore, Yes 4G’s LTE network has already been turned on anyway since users can actually see it by doing a manual network search on their phones:
All in all, all the signs showed that it is only a matter of time before YTL Communication officially launched its LTE service. So, stay tuned for further details on Yes 4G LTE which we expect to be unveiled on 15 June alongside the new Galaxy J Series (2016) devices.
