Ever since Pebble introduced the new Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Core, the company has been actively updating its software to provide more for its users. Today, Pebble announced that they will be publishing their health activity tracking algorithm, as well as a new Happiness app that can track your mood.
The health tracking algorithms that will be published to the public include one that detects motion and another that counts steps. According to Pebble, this will “encourage the use of a standard set of measures” among different devices. If you’re interested, you can check out the algorithm on the Medium post published by Nathaniel Stockham, a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at Stanford University and a Pebble collaborator.
As for the new Happiness App, Pebble says that health is bigger than just steps, sleep and workouts, which is why they want to track your mood as well. The app is just an experiment for now, and it will track your mood, energy and stress levels throughout the day.
Like its health-tracking, it tracks your mood in weekly cycles. Happiness App is available for download for Pebble Time, Pebble Time Steel, and Pebble Time Round users so just click the link from your mobile phone and install it.
