Injustice 2 has been leaked through a poster sent to Gamestop stores in the US. Nothing else is known beyond the image of Batman in a standoff against The Flash and the tag line “every battle defines you”.
The original Injustice: Gods Among Us was a superhero fighting game based on the Mortal Kombat engine. The story followed a Superman who became dictator of the world after the Joker killed Lois Lane; a plot that became popular enough to be continued as an digital release comic.
We have no idea where Injustice 2 will pick up, although the Batman in the poster appears to be wearing a Kryptonite laced costume. Whether the game will pick up from the comic series or follow its own path will be interesting to note.
Injustice 2 is expected to be officially announced at E3 next week.
Update: Netherrealm has released the official trailer for Injustice 2. Everyone is in armour – including Superman and Supergirl – for some reason. It leads us to believe that there will be customisation of fighting styles similar to that in Mortal Kombat X.
