Alongside its new mechanical keyboard switch, Tesoro also unveiled a mechanical keyboard that will launch a lot sooner. It’s called the Gram Spectrum, featuring the company’s own Agile mechanical switch coupled with low-profile keycaps.
The Gram Spectrum also offers RGB backlighting that, coupled with the exposed metal plate, gives off a premium backlighting experience on a keyboard; the special white edition further enhances the look. As usual, there’s a Tesoro software that lets you customise backlighting and assign macros.
The keyboard uses Tesoro’s Agile mechanical switch, which is similar to the new Cherry MX Speed switches. The Agile switch gives a tactile feedback but has a short travel distance of 3.5mm, and actuates at just 1.5mm. The low-profile keycaps mean it is also more compact for a mechanical keyboard.
Besides that, the 32-bit ARM processor has 512KB of onboard memory for macros, and the keyboard offers full N-key rollover via USB, and the braided USB cable is also detachable.
The Tesoro Gram is now available in selected markets globally for $140 (about RM570), and we’re told it will be arriving in Malaysia within the next two months. A non-RGB backlit version is also available for $130 (about RM530).
