If you’ve been eager to get your hands on the HTC 10, you’ll be happy to know that the Taiwanese company’s latest flagship smartphone has been spotted on SIRIM. More often than not, devices registered with the certification body will be launched in Malaysia not long after they have appeared in the database.
The HTC 10 boasts an all-metal body just like its predecessor, the HTC One M9. That being said, design elements of the HTC One A9 can also be seen in the HTC 10, especially on the front of the device. HTC’s latest flagship also has a rather large beveled edges on the back, which may help with ergonomics; the slightly curved back panel of the HTC 10 should make it a comfortable device to hold as well.
As for specifications, the HTC 10 is truly a flagship smartphone. It has a 5.2-inch 1440p Super LCD 5 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of expandable storage, a 3,000mAh battery, as well as a fingerprint sensor. The HTC 10 also has a 12MP UltraPixel rear camera – complemented by a 5MP front-facing shooter – that is similar to the one found on the Nexus 6P, but has added features such as optical image stabilisation.
HTC may have been rather quiet in Malaysia after the local launch of the One A9, but the HTC 10 may just be what the company needs to recapture Malaysians’ interest. Ultimately, it is the local pricing of the HTC 10 that will determine how well-received the device will be here.
