Sharing photos on Instagram on your iOS device has just gotten a whole lot easier. The company has finally updated its app to allow you to share on Instagram directly from any other apps on the device. Previously, users will have to exit the current app, fire up Instagram and pick from the camera roll.
One of the most inconvenient thing about iOS in its early days is how restricted it is and how apps don’t work with each other. Apple finally fixed this problem with third party app extension when it introduced iOS 8 in 2014. Sadly, not every developer is making use of this ability.
With this latest update from Instagram, you can finally share from other photo apps on your iOS device. Edit an image from your camera roll, hit the share button, and pick Instagram to share directly to the social network. If you don’t see Instagram, make sure you update the app, try to share again and hit the “More” button, then turn Instagram on.
This is nothing new of course, Android users have been enjoying such feature for a very long time now, but this means that iOS users can finally share on Instagram with ease.
