Well, looks like consumers in Malaysia don’t have to wait until after Computex 2016 to check out this gaming laptop. Previously appeared in Indonesia in late March before it was officially announced by ASUS Republic of Gamers division last week, here comes the brand new ROG Strix GL502.
In terms of specs, ASUS has decided to release the higher-end model in Malaysia which features 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution for its 15.6-inch IPS display. In addition to that, the laptop also carries 2.6GHz Intel Core i7-6700HQ, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and NVDIA GeForce GTX 970M GPU with 6GB GDDR5 VRAM.
As for storage drive, the ROG Strix GL502 comes with 128GB solid state drive alongside 1TB hard disk drive. While the ROG Gaming Center software comes as a standard on this 2.34kg gaming laptop just like its liquid-cooled sibling GX700, there is no mention of overclocking capabilities for GL502 on ASUS Malaysia’s official website.
Price-wise, the new ROG Strix GL502 goes for RM 6,999 although the street price might varies from one retailer to another. Hence, make sure to compare the prices first to get the best deal possible if you are planning to get your hands on the new gaming laptop.
