Remember when OnePlus launched the OnePlus 2, they had a live launch event in virtual reality? Back then, the Chinese company gave away OnePlus Cardboard viewers to 30,000 users around the world. If you were excited then, be prepared to be even more excited for the launch of OnePlus 3 because it looks like the company will take things one step further.
OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 3 in VR again, but instead of a boring office environment, the event will be held in a space station called “The Loop”.
As with before, OnePlus wants everyone around the globe to join the launch, which is why they are giving away a OnePlus Loop VR Headset for free. The headset allows for a more robust and comfortable viewing experience, and is developed together with AntVR, who are “pros at VR optics”.
Sadly for Malaysian users, OnePlus says that they can’t bring the Loop VR Headset to Malaysia at this time, but states that we can still watch the event. So, if you still have the OnePlus Cardboard VR viewer from the OnePlus 2 launch event, it’s time to take it out of your drawer to “get ready and view the OnePlus 3 launch soon”.
You can still head on to the OnePlus website and try out your luck, or if you will be heading somewhere for a holiday, try and see if you can get yourself a free Loop VR Headset from OnePlus. The URL is https://oneplus.net/uk/oneplus-loop-vr. Just replace “uk” with your country code.
