It looks like Spotify’s Family plan has just gotten a whole lot cheaper. The music streaming service recently lowered the price of its family plans, allowing you to share with up to five additional accounts for just RM22.40 a month.
Previously, Spotify’s family sharing had multiple plans – share with two users for RM22.35, and up to five users for RM44.90 a month. The new price of RM22.40 now is fixed, and you can add up to five extra family members. This means that the more people you add, the more you save.

As with before, everyone under the family plan gets his or her own unique premium account. If your family member already has a Spotify account before, they can keep all their saved music, playlists and recommendations. At the end of the month, there will only be one bill sent to the main user to avoid complications.
Do note that Spotify in Malaysia is a whole lot cheaper compared to Spotify in other countries like the U.S., and Europe, whereby the new family sharing plans are charged at US$15 and €15 a month. Thanks to how expensive US Dollar is right now compared to Malaysian Ringgit, this new changes also makes Spotify Family plan cheaper than what Apple is offering with Apple Music family plans, which is priced at US$5.99 (about RM24.51) in Malaysia to share with up to 6 users.
The new changes is effective immediately, and for existing Spotify Family plan users, you will be charged the new price on your next payment date.
