Xiaomi has released teaser images for what appears to be a drone; confirming that the company is getting into expanding the Mi eco-system to include flying machines. This would be the company’s first foray into the drone market, and is likely to put it in competition with companies like DJI.
Xiaomi has been working on their drone device for quite some time now. The company also has patents for a drone that can be controlled via a wearable and gestures, although ultimately it might not feature in the upcoming drone.
While the poster does not give us much to work with, a leaked screenshot of the purported Xiaomi drone app has revealed some specifications. Xiaomi’s new drone likely will come with a built-in camera (much like the DJI drones) and shoot 4K video; which indicates its place it as a rather top end device.
Xiaomi is set to announce the drone in an upcoming launch event on 25th May. Pricing was not detailed for the drone, but we expect Xiaomi to offer it below its competitor, which has always been the company’s selling point.
