The date of the Steam Summer Sale for 2016 has been leaked, which means it is almost time to buy more games that we will never play. The sale will apparently run from 23 June until 4 July; which is roughly about the same time frame as it had last year.
The recent leak has come from a screenshot appearing on Reddit. It looks like a message to a Russian developer, as the months happen to written in Cyrillic. The message also warns the developer against posting the date to the Steam Community or its own website before Valve makes an official announcement.
Steam sales are usually the most anticipated online sale for games, with discounts going as high as 90-percent on occasion. However, Valve has done away with special offers like Daily Deals and Flash sales since it implemented its new refund policy.
With any luck, Valve has figured out how to make Summer Sales exciting again; as the last few have fizzled out with little to talk about. It just isn’t the same without having to check back every few hours for new deals.
