While laptops might be the main menu at Acer Malaysia’s launch event yesterday, the company did bring additional star to the occasion which comes in the form of Acer R1 Series monitors. When they were first introduced at CES 2016 earlier this year, Acer claimed them as the thinnest monitors in the world and today, we finally get to see why ourselves.
Available in 21.5”, 23.8”, and 27” screen sizes, the R1 Series monitors feature an ultra-thin bezel with a thickness of just 7mm. Despite the differences in size, their general specifications are rather identical to each other which include full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution, IPS panel with 178-degrees viewing angle, 4ms response time, 60Hz refresh rate, and brightness level of 250 nits.
At the same time, Acer has also implemented its flicker-less tech into these monitors alongside another technology called BluelightShield. Together, they are apparently able to reduce strains on user’s eyes which subsequently lead to a much more comfortable viewing experience.
Price-wise, the 21.5″ model goes for RM 479 while the 23.8″ and 27″ models are priced at RM 649 and RM 899 respectively. Consumers should be able to get their hands on these monitors from Acer retailers throughout Malaysia starting this week.
