Biostar has announced its latest motherboard called the J3160MD. Named after Intel’s Celeron J3160 Braswell refresh, Biostar’s latest motherboard comes with a feature that most motherboards in today’s market lack: a built-in processor.
That’s right, in an age where companies are manufacturing motherboards bedazzled with RGB lightning and funky designs, Biostar has managed to cater for consumers that want a processor pre-installed with a motherboard. Because when one has a motherboard equipped with a blazing fast 2.24GHz (burst frequency) Celeron J3160 SoC, a processor upgrade rarely becomes an agenda.
When it comes to expansion slots, the Biostar motherboard J3160MD is equipped with one PCIe x16 2.0 slot and two PCI Slot. In addition, the motherboard also ships with two SATA III Connectors as well. I/O ports include: two USB 3.0 ports and 2.0 ports each; also not forgetting the legendary PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports too.
Display is powered via one DVI and VGA ports each; HDMI and DisplayPort ports are omitted because those can be found on a discrete graphics card instead. Unfortunately, Biostar has not mentioned the price and availability of the J3160MD motherboard (probably at Computex 2016?). Regardless, more information about Biostar’s latest Micro ATX motherboard can be found here.
