True to its words back in January earlier this year, MSI Malaysia has officially launched two new products in Malaysia: the MSI GT72S Tobii gaming laptop and a very compact gaming PC, the MSI Vortex. Packed with some very high-end hardware, these gaming machines will satisfy even the most demanding of gamers.
The GT72S Tobii isn’t your typical gaming laptop. It is equipped with an Intel Core i7-6820HK processor paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M graphics card, support for Nvidia’s G-Sync technology, a large 17.3-inch 1080p IPS display, a 1TB 7200RPM HDD, and a fast 128GB PCIe SSD. It’s no doubt that the GT72S is a capable gaming machine, but it is the laptop’s Tobii eye tracking technology that is its most interesting hardware.
Thanks to the Tobii technology, the GT72S can track the eye movement of users. Essentially, you can use your eyes as another form of input in video games. Of course, this feature is only available in games that support the feature, but it is interesting nonetheless.
Also unveiled at today’s launch event is the MSI Vortex compact gaming PC. There are two models of the Vortex: one is packed with two GTX 960 graphics card, while the other variant is equipped with two powerful GTX 980 GPUs. Naturally, these graphics cards are running in SLI.
Other specifications of the MSI Vortex include a Core i7-6700K Skylake-based processor paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD along with a 1TB 7200RPM HDD, a 450W PSU, and a two-year warranty. The Vortex also has a plethora of connectivity options, including two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two HDMI ports, as well as two miniDP ports. It’s rather impressive how MSI managed to pack such powerful hardware inside the Vortex’s small 6.5 litre enclosure.
As for retail prices, the MSI GT72S Tobii gaming laptop retails at RM12,999, while the MSI Vortex goes for RM11,999 and RM18,999 for the GTX 960 and GTX 980 models respectively. Both of these gaming machines are now available for purchase in Malaysia.
