Originally introduced to the world in 2014, Apple CarPlay allows users access their Apple iPhone through radio or multimedia receiver in their vehicles. While this particular feature might come as a standard in vehicles from selected manufacturers, certain companies such as Pioneer do produce aftermarket product that supports CarPlay.
Compatible with iPhone 5 or newer, Pioneer Malaysia recently revealed that there are three Pioneer multimedia receivers in the market that support CarPlay including the company’s newly launched flagship model, the AVH-X8850BT as well as AVH-X7850BT and AVH-X8650BT. To activate CarPlay on these receivers, it depends on which model that users owned though.
For example, Pioneer AVH-X8850BT and AVH-X7850BT already has CarPlay built into them which means users only need to plug in their iPhone to these receivers via a Lightning to USB cable in order to use the feature. For AVH-X8650BT, users need to update the receiver’s firmware first which can be done using a USB flash drive.
Of course, users are more than welcome to get in touch directly with Pioneer Service Centres throughout Malaysia if they are not too sure on how to access CarPlay on these receivers themselves. For further information, head on to the official website of Pioneer Malaysia.
