After making its debut in Singapore late last year, Grab today has launched the new GrabHitch service in Malaysia. Even though the service will only be available to consumers in the middle of this month, Grab customers should already able to see GrabHitch on their app starting from today onwards.
GrabHitch is described as a social carpooling service as opposed to GrabCar which is generally a chauffeured cars service. Specifically, GrabHitch matches passengers with drivers that suits their destination while GrabCar provides passengers with vehicles that are nearest to their location.
Furthermore, GrabCar passengers are able to call for their ride at any given time while GrabHitch passengers need to book their vehicles in advanced – between 2 hours to 7 days – before their journey takes place. At the same time, Grab claimed that the new GrabHitch service is apparently much affordable than taxis or even its competitors.
Meanwhile, the company is certainly quite confident with its bold claim above by coming out with this comparison:
At the moment, Grab is currently growing its pool of GrabHitch drivers which is why passengers will only able to book their GrabHitch ride starting from 15 May onwards. To learn more, head on to the official website of Grab Malaysia.
