Weeks after it was officially announced at AMD’s Capsaicin press event during GDC 2016, the new Radeon Pro Duo graphics card has finally made its way into the market. Touted as the fastest graphics card in the world at the moment, neither the company nor its manufacturing partners have announced exact release date or pricing for Malaysian market though but nevertheless, we have learned that the card has since arrived at local retailers.
For example, DotaTech IT Enterprise who is also fondly known as lingloong has announced the arrival of the Sapphire-branded dual-GPU graphics card at its store last week. At that time, the retailer has priced the card at RM 7,099 although it listed the card for slightly lower at its Lelong store front (RM 6,999).
We are not exactly surprised by the price differences though since lingloong has actually taken pre-order for the card at RM 7,099 around two weeks before the card’s arrival at the store. While the card is listed at RM 6,699 on lingloong’s Garage Sales thread at Lowyat.NET Forums, that particular price tag does not include 6% GST.
Another well-known PC parts retailer, Ideal Tech, has also taken pre-order for the card in mid-April at the same price although the company has yet to announce the arrival of the card at its store so far. Meanwhile, TechView IT Solution of Petaling Jaya is offering the Radeon Pro Duo for RM 6,995 through its Lelong store front.
All in all, we came to conclusion that the card has entered Malaysia with a highly premium price tag which is way more than its USD 1,499.99 (about RM 5,887) price tag in United States. It is something that you might want to take note if you are planning to get your hands on it.
