Asus has opened pre-orders for its latest gaming monitors in Malaysia, the ROG Swift PG279Q and PG27AQ. Unveiled back at Computex 2015, these monitors feature some impressive specifications, such as support for Nvidia’s G-Sync technology and a whopping refresh rate of 165Hz on the PG279Q.
According to Asus, the ROG PG279Q is the first gaming monitor in the market with such a high refresh rate. That being said, the company mentioned that the 165Hz refresh rate of the monitor can only be “fully experienced” with an Nvidia GTX 960 or better graphics card. Regardless, other specifications of the PG279Q include a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS display, 4ms grey-to-grey response time, and G-Sync support.
If you want to get into 4K gaming instead, Asus has the PG27AQ. Essentially, it is a 27-inch 3840 x 2160 monitor with support for G-Sync as well, although its refresh rate isn’t as high as the ROG PG279Q at 60Hz. Then again, we are talking about a 4K IPS panel here. The PG27AQ also has 4ms grey-to-grey response time and the exact same design as the PG279Q, which can get a little confusing.
Pre-orders for the Asus ROG PG279Q and PG27AQ are now open until the 28th of April 2016; they retail at RM4,049 and RM4,219 respectively. More information on the pre-order of these two monitors can be found on Asus Malaysia’s Facebook page.
