Being one of its major press event for the year, Acer did not forget to bring a number of Predator gaming product to its New York briefing earlier today. One such product is the new Predator 17 X gaming laptop which might looked just like last year’s Predator 17 but comes with much more powerful hardware.
For example, customers have the option to equip their Predator 17 X with Intel Core i7-6820HK processor which has unlocked multiplier that made it overlock-friendly. Customers are also able to have the desktop-grade NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 GPU with 8GB GDDR5 VRAM on their Predator 17 X alongside 17.3-inch UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS display which also supports G-SYNC technology.
The 4.55kg gaming laptop also features a custom tri-fan cooling system that is designed to suck in cool air from the center front section of the laptop as opposed to grabbing air from underneath the laptop as per standard cooling solution. Acer is quite confident with Predator 17 X cooling solution as the company claimed that the solution helps the laptop performs better than a liquid-cooled gaming laptop – presumably the ASUS RoG GX700.
At the same time, the laptop is also able to support up to 64GB DDR4-2133 RAM, three solid state drive, and one hard drive. If you wondering, yes, the Predator 17 X also features customizable backlit RGB keyboard. The new Predator 17 X is scheduled for release starting from May onwards with the first market being China for CNY 39,999 (about RM 24,160) before it is released in US and Europe in June for USD 2,799 (about RM 10,971) and EUR 2,499 (about RM 11,060) respectively.
