Not only is the new 12-inch MacBook available for purchase now, the Cupertino company has also lowered the prices of all Mac machines in Malaysia. These include the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro, and of course, even the new 12-inch MacBook.
These price drops vary from one Mac machine to the other; some products receive only RM200 reduction in price, while others got a whopping RM1,600 price cut. For the sake of comparison (and clarity), we’ve come up with a table reflecting these price changes.
Other than these reduction in retail prices, we notice that the MacBook Air also received a slight update. Previously, the base model only comes with 4GB of RAM, but Apple seems to have changed this: all variants of the MacBook Air now ship with 8GB of RAM.
Looking back at the table above, these price drops are not as drastic as some would’ve hoped; the retail prices before the October 2015 price hike were still lower. That said, it’s good to see that Apple is adjusting the prices of its Mac products in Malaysia to reflect the current exchange rate of our currency.
If you’re planning to get yourself a new Mac machine, perhaps now is the best time to get it. Then again, Apple may have a few surprises in store in WWDC 2016, which is set to take place from the 13th of June 2016.
