Razer has released as many as two laptops this year. We have the Razer Blade Stealth, and more recently, 2016’s iteration of the Razer Blade, simply dubbed as the “new Razer Blade.” After doing some searching on SIRIM’s database and FCC documentations, there’s a chance these two Razer laptops will be launched in Malaysia at the same time.
If you recall, we first spotted a mysterious Razer laptop on SIRIM back in January this year. Based on what we can find at the time, we believe it was the Razer Blade Stealth. Now, there is yet another Razer laptop registered by Ban Leong Technologies on SIRIM with the model number “RZ09-0165,” and it’s highly likely to be the 2016 Razer Blade.
Unlike previous models of the Razer Blade, this year’s iteration ships with a new 165W power adapter. According to FCC documentations of the RZ09-0165 laptop, it was tested with the very same 165W charger; this suggests that the Razer laptop registered with SIRIM is the 2016 Razer Blade.
As far as specifications go, the new Razer Blade is packed with a 14-inch QHD+ IGZO display, an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M graphics card, 256GB or 512GB of SSD storage, and of course, a Chroma keyboard with a new, more readable font. Not surprisingly, the 2016 Razer Blade also has a USB Type-C port, which makes it compatible with the Razer Core external graphics enclosure.
While it’s pretty clear that both the Razer Blade Stealth and 2016 Blade have received their respective SIRIM certification, Razer did not confirm just when these laptops will be sold in Malaysia. That said, a Razer spokesperson mentioned to us some time back that these two laptops will be available “in the coming weeks.”
