Asus has released a BIOS update that ensures most of its X99 motherboards will be compatible with Intel’s upcoming processors; this follows just a few days after ASRock released a BIOS update for its own version of the motherboards.
Interestingly, Asus did not mention specifically what Intel processors will its motherboards be supporting. Instead, in a press release, Asus said that its motherboards will be compatible with “upcoming Intel Core i7 X-series CPUs along with Xeon Processors”.
For those that aren’t aware, Intel’s upcoming processors will be under the Broadwell-E (mainstream) and Broadwell-EP (enterprise) lineup. Both are packed with the eye watering 22-core Intel Xeon E5-2699 V4 and the highly anticipated Core i7-6950X.
According to Asus, the latest BIOS update for selected X99 motherboards has already been made available for consumers. BIOS flashing instructions along with the list of compatible Asus X99 motherboards can be found here.
