Since HTC has finally taken the drape off its brand new flagship smartphone – the HTC 10 – yesterday, plenty of information that was leaked prior to the announcement turned out to be accurate. This include the second variant of HTC 10 which features a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor instead of the higher-end Snapdragon 820 model that was announced yesterday.
Dubbed as the HTC 10 Lifestyle, this particular variant was listed on the official website of HTC India. The site also stated that the device features lower RAM than the Snapdragon 820 variant at 3GB although it will still come with 32GB internal storage. Furthermore, USB Type-C port on this particular variant only supports USB 2.0 standard instead of USB 3.1 as per the other variant.
Beside these differences, the HTC 10 Lifestyle is still equipped with plenty of features from the Snapdragon 820-based HTC 10. They include the same metal-based physical design, 5.2-inch Quad HD Super LCD 5 display, 12-megapixels Ultrapixel 2 rear camera, 5-megapixels front camera with OIS, BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition, Hi-Res Audio output, Quick Charge 3.0 support, and 3,000 mAh battery.
Given how Malaysia and India are under the responsibility of HTC South Asia, it might be possible that we will be seeing the Snapdragon 652 variant in our market especially given how the company decided to release One M9+ rather than the original One M9 in Malaysia last year. Then again, the HTC 10 variant that is listed on HTC’s Southeast Asia website comes with Snapdragon 820.
However, nothing is confirmed at the moment though as HTC has yet to make any announcement regarding HTC 10 arrival in Malaysia. Guess we have to wait till that happens in order to know which variant of HTC 10 that will be made available for Malaysian consumers.
