vivo has officially introduced its latest device, the V3Max, in Malaysia. Packed with a very capable processor in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 along with a metal construction, the V3Max isn’t your typical mid-range device.
Out of all the specifications of the V3Max, its magnesium along body along with the Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor – this is the first smartphone in Malaysia with such an SoC – are the most noteworthy aspects. Essentially, this processor is a more powerful chipset over the already capable Snapdragon 650 processor, which we were quite fond of in our review of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
Other than that, the V3Max also has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (it supports cards up to 128GB), a fingerprint sensor, a 3,000mAh battery, as well as Funtouch OS 2.5 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. In the camera department, the V3Max has a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus complemented by an 8MP front-facing shooter.
Interestingly, vivo Malaysia is only introducing the V3Max in Malaysia for now; the slightly lower-end – and more affordable – V3 was nowhere to be seen at the launch event. When we reached out to a vivo representative about this, we were told that the V3 will be available in Malaysia next month.
The vivo V3Max will retail at RM1,399 in Malaysia, and it will officially go on sale on the 15th of April this Friday. It can be purchased from vivo authorised dealers and retail stores nationwide.
