Acer has launched the Hello Kitty Edition of its Revo One mini PC. Internally, it is practically the same as the Revo One launched back in May 2015. The hardware comes in the same configuration, although this particular variant is aimed at a very specific market segment.
The Acer Revo One Hello Kitty Edition is available in two configurations. The higher end version runs on a fourth generation Intel Core i3-4005U processor paired with a 1TB SATA hard disk. The budget version features a much lower end Intel Celeron 2957U and a 500GB SATA HDD. Both still feature 4GB of DDR3L (upgradeable to 8GB) and Intel HD Graphics. It also retains the hot swap HDD expansion slot which supports 2.5-inch drives.
Like the regular Revo One, this dimunitive computer is designed mainly as a media consumption centre – as evident by the numerous connectivity options available. The computer features an HDMI port, mini DisplayPort, RJ45 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and two USB 3.0 ports. The Revo One SD card reader is still present on this model for additional storage.
The Hello Kitty branding extends to the power cable casing – which resembles a bright pink ribbon – and the Acer Revo One Suite app. The app allows users to use their smartphones as a remote control; while also allowing the phone to use the computer as a cloud storage device.
Only 600 units have been brought into Malaysia, making it a limited edition run in the country; and will retail for RM2,099 for the Core i3 model RM1,499 for the Celeron version.
