As promised, TM has officially announced its latest project which comes in the form of a LTE-enabled mobile telco called Webe (pronounced as “we – be”). The creation of Webe is a result of its acquisition of P1 in 2014 alongside a major local roaming partnership with Celcom that it signed earlier this year.
In other words, webe has officially replaced P1 from today onwards. However, no announcement has been made regarding its plans for consumers today. In fact, its CEO has confirmed that webe is not launching its service today in his tweet during the launch event:
No, we are not launching our service just yet! it is all about #makeithappen #webecommunity our new brand DNA #webeawesome

CC Puan has also confirmed that webe is still in final phase of user testing. Meanwhile, there will be no immediate change happening to existing P1 users as webe are still in the middle of getting its network up to par before starting its commercial service within the middle of this year.
With that, looks like you still have to wait for more information regarding webe’s offering for consumers which is rumored to be quite mouth watering.
