We all know that Facebook Messenger wants to be more than just a platform to let you chat and share things like pictures and emoticons. Facebook has been constantly updating its Messenger with plenty of features and the latest one is Dropbox integration to let users share files directly from Dropbox to your friends.
Dropbox recently announced that you may now easily share photos, videos and other files using Facebook Messenger, so you’ll never have to leave the Messenger app. Things like videos, images and even GIFs will be displayed directly in your chats. As for other files, tapping “Open” will open up the Dropbox mobile app, allowing users to preview and save files.
“We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about. Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.” – Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Facebook Messenger.
As expected, in order to fully enjoy the feature, you will need to have Messenger and the updated Dropbox installed on your iOS or Android device. Once done, in your conversation, tap on the More button and you will see Dropbox as an available source.
Facebook will be hosting its annual F8 developer conference soon, so stay tuned for more announcements regarding the social networking company and of course, Messenger.
