There has been a lot of news regarding Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the Mi 5, circulating on the internet, ranging from renders to Antutu benchmark scores. Now, a video of what is purportedly the Xiaomi Mi 5 in action has been leaked; giving fans a closer look at what the next big thing from China can do.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch screen, having either a 2560 x 1440 QHD display, or a 1920 x 1080 FHD display. The device is touted to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Storage wise, it might have an internal storage of 16GB and support for expansion via a microSD card of up to 64GB.
In the camera department, the Mi 5 supposedly sports a 16MP camera on the back, with an 8MP front-facing camera. There should also be a 3,030mAh battery powering the device, with a fingerprint sensor embedded within the home button on the front. Besides that, there have also been press renders that shows the Mi 5 being available in different colour options – black, gold, pink, and white. Check them out below:
A Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus is also rumoured to be in the works. The device might have a 5.5-inch of 5.7-inch 2K display, and is touted to have 32GB of internal storage. It will probably have the same 16MP camera on the back, but it might have either a 5MP or 8MP camera on the front. Other than that, the rest of the specifications are expected to be the same as the Mi 5.
As of this writing, Xiaomi’s Mi 5 is expected to go for 1,999 Yuan (about RM1,325), and the Mi 5 Plus will supposedly have a price tag of about 2,500 Yuan (approximately RM1,650). It shouldn’t be long now until Xiaomi officially unveils its latest smartphone; not like there is any more reason for keeping it under wraps.
