Do you have any old Android smartphones or iPhone lying around that are still in working condition? Instead of leaving them lying dormant, here comes an excellent way to put them up to good use again thanks to a new project by Give.my.
Crafted by a local social consultancy company called Tandemic, Give.my is a crowdfunding platform that is made specially for educators. Its latest project is now in the look for smartphones that will be utilize as virtual reality viewers through the usage of Google Cardboard platform.
The aim of this project is to allow underprivileged children to embark on an interactive “field trip” with the help of virtual reality. In fact, Google has donated a number of its Cardboard headsets to this project as well.
In return, Give.my will provide a report that includes description of activities as well as list of schools and orphanages that the project visits with the donated smartphones. With that, do get in touch with the folks at Tandemic on how to donate your smartphones for the project.
