MSI has quietly launched a new laptop in Malaysia, the CX62. Marketed as a “productive computing” laptop, the CX62 is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphics card. While this notebook won’t be running the latest games at their maximum settings, it’s packed with a fifth generation Intel Core i7-5700HQ processor, which is rather interesting.
While it would’ve been nicer to see a sixth generation processor under the hood of the CX62, the Core i7-5700HQ is quite a capable quad-core processor. Clocked at 2.7GHz with a maximum Turbo Boost speed of 3.5GHz, it is complemented with a GeForce 940M graphics card, which should be able to run games well enough – just don’t expect to do some serious gaming on this laptop.
Other than that, the CX62 also has a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 full HD IPS display, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1TB HDD, a DVD-RW drive, and one year of warranty. It will also run on Windows 10 Home out of the box along with a chiclet keyboard that MSI claims will provide a comfortable and responsive typing experience.
The MSI CX62 is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM3,199. Those who are looking to get a laptop with a capable processor and do some gaming on the side should check out the CX62.
