Nvidia released an updated version of its Shield Tablet K1 about a month ago. Along with the release of the gaming tablet, Nvidia had promise to eventually update it with the latest version of Android, Marshmallow 6.0. Now, the update is here, and it will be done over-the-air.
Nvidia calls the update Software Upgrade 1.0, and it promises to bring additional features that would benefit users. The first feature included in the software update for the Shield Tablet K1 is giving users more control and a much more refined experience with the gaming tablet. This include the newly introduced App Standby, Now on Tap, Adoptable Storage and improved app permissions.
Besides that, the Shield Tablet K1’s camera also gets an update. The camera improvements include an improved user interface, better burst photo capabilities and new HD image effects. Interestingly, Shield Tablet K1 users can now personalise the tablet’s Home and Lock screens, which adds a layer of customisation to the gaming tablet.
Before attempting to update the gaming tablet, users are advised to back up their data. The Android Marshmallow upgrade for the Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 can be found by browsing through the settings of the device.
