In celebration of the company’s second anniversary, OnePlus has unveiled a brand new variant of the OnePlus X. Enter the OnePlus X Champagne edition, which is essentially a white model of the X along with a gold frame.
Aside from the difference in colour, this variant of the OnePlus X is just like the regular model. With the introduction of the Champagne edition, the OnePlus X can now be purchased in white or black. Of course, unlike the black model, the white variant of the OnePlus X has a gold frame, which is probably the reason why it is called the Champagne edition.
In terms of specification, the OnePlus X runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor that is paired with 3GB of RAM. While it’s not exactly a new chipset, the 801 is still very capable. Other than that, the OnePlus X also has a 5.0-inch 1920 x 1080 AMOLED display, 16GB of built-in memory (expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB), a modest 2,525mAh battery, as well as 13MP rear and 8MP front-facing cameras.
As of this writing, the OnePlus X Champagne edition is only available in Europe and China. That being said, Carl Pei – the co-founder of OnePlus – mentioned that this variant of the X will be available in other markets in the future. Whether or not Malaysia will receive the Champagne edition of the OnePlus X remains to be seen.
