It seems like Asus ROG gaming laptops has been refreshed with Skylake processors in Malaysia. These include the slim and light G501, the GL552, and the brand new G752, which was unveiled back at IFA 2015.
We spotted these three refreshed ROG gaming laptops while going through Asus Malaysia’s latest product guide, which can be found here. According to the guide, all three of these laptops are now running on a sixth generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor along with Windows 10 Home out of the box. Previously in Malaysia, the G501 and GL552 were only equipped with fourth generation Intel Core i processors.
Out of the three of these ROG gaming laptops, the G752 is the most interesting one. Essentially an upgrade over the previously released G751, it features two choices of graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M or 980M), a 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 LED backlit display, up to 24GB of DDR4 RAM, a 1TB SATA HDD along with 128GB of SSD storage, and a slightly redesigned chassis over the G751. This laptop retails at RM6,999 and RM8,999 for the GTX 970M (with 8GB of DDR4 RAM) and GTX 980M – with 24GB of DDR4 RAM – variants respectively.
The other two ROG laptops, the G501 and GL552, are both equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M graphics card. These two laptops also have a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 8GB of DDR3 memory (4GB DDR4 RAM on the GL552), and a 1TB SATA HDD coupled with a 128GB SSD. It’s pretty interesting how the GL552 has DDR4 RAM while the G501 still only comes with DDR3 RAM. As for the retail prices of these laptops, the G501 and GL552 go for RM5,499 and RM4,399 respectively.
While the retail prices of these Asus ROG laptops have been revealed in the company’s product guide, Asus itself has yet to confirm the actual availability of them. Until Asus Malaysia officially launches these laptops on our shores, consumers might not be able to get their hands on these ROG laptops yet.
