Excited for the midnight screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Well, Google has a neat Chrome experiment for you to try out in the meantime: Lightsaber Escape. Essentially, it lets you become a Jedi by turning your smartphone into a lightsaber. As the name of the browser game implies, you’ll have to escape with your lightsaber by fighting off hoards of stormtroopers. How cool is that?
To try out this game for yourself (and destroy your productivity for the day), head on to the Lightsaber Escape website on your favourite browser and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you’ve calibrated your phone, you can start waving your phone/lightsaber furiously at your computer to defeat the stormtroopers. It might take some time to load the game for the first time, but rest assured, the game should load after awhile.
This neat little browser game is a collaborative effort between Google, Disney, Lucasfilm, and Industrial Light & Magic. The best part is, Lightsaber Escape will work with most browsers. We’ve tried it out on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and both browsers run the game just fine.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be hitting cinemas on the 17th of December 2015. While waiting for the midnight screening of the movie later today, why not try and beat our score in Lightsaber Escape? We’ve managed to escape in three minutes on our second attempt; may the Force be with you.
