The date of the Steam Winter Sale has been leaked by PayPal. This time, the event will begin on 22 December and run until 3 January. Does anyone else feel like the last Steam sale just ended?
As usual, the beginning date of the sale leaked through a third party site attempting to promote the event. However, it should be noted that this information was apparently made know last month; when the date of the Autumn Sale was leaked. Although this happened on Reddit and the account was banned for leaking the information.
Like the Autumn Sale, it looks like there will be no Flash Sales or Daily Deals. It makes for a less exciting sale period, but also discourages impulse buying for those who ridiculously low prices that run for only eight hours. The change was likely made to allow refunds to work within Steam; and avoid abuse from people who buy heavily discounted games and ask for full refunds.
Still, this is a good time to buy Steam games as Christmas presents; it’s probably the environmentally friendly option as well.
