Team SatuDuaTiga defeated Team Who2bet in a best of three series at the Malaysia Cyber Games 2015. Holding the esteemed title of ‘Team Taring‘, they will now be representing Malaysia to compete in Dota 2 tournaments both locally, and internationally.
The team consists of Lee “papaxiong” Vei Siang, Ng “YamaTeh” Wei Poong, Chua “Ice” Chee Cai, Adam “343” Erwann Shah, Sim “Ling” Woi Cheong, and Benjamin “Ben” Lim Yi Cheong. These players will be receiving support from the Malaysian government, including financial aid, training facilities, training equipment, team management, sponsorship and more.
In the first match, Team Who2Bet had a strong lineup with their Tiny and Razor pick. Despite taking game one rather easily, it wasn’t over yet as Team SatuDuaTiga came back with a strong lineup for both game two and three. The turning point happened in game three, where Who2Bet attempted to ambush their opponents during an attempt to claim the Aegis of the Immortal from Roshan. Team SatuDuaTiga turned the tables on Who2Bet and caused a team wipe to happen. Who2Bet called ‘GG’ shortly after, surrendering the final game to SatuDuaTiga.
After setting up E-Sports Malaysia (ESM), the government showed its commitment in advancing the e-sports scene in Malaysia with the Malaysia Cyber Games. Of course, this time Dota 2 gets the spotlight, but we could see Team Taring branch out to other competitive games like CS:GO and League of Legends.
